Even though my kids eat breakfast everyday before they go to school, and although I pack them lunches... they still come home "starving"!!! Nothing makes me happier than making them something special! This "after school snack" is delicious, and so healthy... best part... they will never know how healthy it really is!
1 Cup Skim Milk + 3 Tablespoons, Warm
2 1/2 Teaspoons Yeast
1 Teaspoon Raw Sugar
1 Tablespoon Honey
Warm the milk in the microwave for about 30-40 seconds...
Combine the warm milk, sugar, honey and yeast...
Whisk all of these ingredients, cover and allow the mixture to bubble and foam... around 5-10 minutes.
Cover the starter...
2 Cups Organic Whole Wheat Flour
1 1/2 Cups Organic Bread Flour
3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
1 Egg, Room Temperature
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
This is what the sponge should look like...
Combine all the ingredients and knead for 8-10 minutes...
Spray the bowl with PAM and allow to rise covered in a dark warm place for 45 minutes...
It should double in size...
Make 12 small dough balls... place in a sprayed sheet pan... cover and allow to rise another 45 minutes...
Bake at 400 degrees until golden ... about 15-20 minutes...
Chicken Garbanzo Burgers
3 Chicken Breast
1 Can Organic Garbanzo Beans, Drained
1/2 Onion
2 Cups Organic Baby Spinach
1 Cup Carrots, 1/4 Cup Cilantro
4 Garlic Cloves
3 Teaspoons Seasoning Salt
1 Teaspoon Ground Pepper
1/2 Teaspoon Oregano
1 Teaspoon Chile Flakes (Optional)
These are my favorite garbanzo beans (in a can) I usually make my own but I always keep these in the pantry!
Place the beans in the food processor and process until almost smooth ... Place in bowl...
This is what it should look like...
Place the 3 breast in the food processor and ground fine... Place in bowl...
Add all the veggies in the processor...
Add all the veggies... Blend until fine...
Add the spices & seasoning salt...
Add the veggies...
Using your hand mix all the ingredients, cover and allow to marinate in the fridge for at least an hour...
Using a 1/4 Cup Cookie Scoop begin shaping your yummy burgers...
You should get about 12 patties...
Add a bit of olive oil to your pan and brown the patties... about 2 minutes on each side...
Seriously... tell me this does not look amazing...
Homemade Buns... Sharp Cheddar Slices, Lettuce, Ketchup, and Mayo...
Yummy... Goodness!!!
